So I went to see Gail Carson Levine (http://gailcarsonlevine.blogspot.com/) and get some books signed. When I left I took with me a copy of a book she wrote called "Writing Magic - Creating Stories that Fly" I started reading it today and the first thing she tells you to do is take one (or more) of her 10 prompts and make it into a story. So for the next few weeks (instead of NaNoWriMo) I'll be posting my short stories from the prompts. It's my goal to do all 10, but I'll hope for 5.
Happy Reading,

The Jewels of Fey Backstory Part 2
Prophecies
The first major prophecy heard of in the Jewels of Fey is shared between both the Human Prophet and the Fey Prophet.
The time comes upon us soon,
In the dark of night under a fair full moon
A child is born to unite the realms
Upon whose brow will sit a royal helm
The times of was shall be at an end
And Rewards galore for all those he calls friend.
Many years later Araphus, the Great King and Child of Prophecy, hears a new major shared prophecy.
When times of war again become too muchSalcid (pronounced sal-keed) is one of the Gods who created this world. Salcid Day is actually the summer solstice. His counter part is Fionosus (pronounced fee-O-no-suhs), whose holiday is the winter solstice. For two weeks around each of these holidays there are festivals. It is the only time of year that Humans and Fey will not fight unless it is part of the festivities (boxing and wrestling matches are common during the Salcid Day festivals).
Five powerful beings shall be born as such
One a Human and four of Fey
Shall be called forth on Salcid Day
To receive their gifts from the Royal Crown
Each must prove their hearts sound
For an Evil Enemy shall return
To steal the gifts so making his foes burn.
Happy Reading!!
