Next Few Future Blogs...

So I went to see Gail Carson Levine (http://gailcarsonlevine.blogspot.com/) and get some books signed.  When I left I took with me a copy of a book she wrote called "Writing Magic - Creating Stories that Fly"  I started reading it today and the first thing she tells you to do is take one (or more) of her 10 prompts and make it into a story.  So for the next few weeks (instead of NaNoWriMo) I'll be posting my short stories from the prompts.  It's my goal to do all 10, but I'll hope for 5.

The Jewels of Fey Backstory Part 2

Prophecies

The first major prophecy heard of in the Jewels of Fey is shared between both the Human Prophet and the Fey Prophet.
The time comes upon us soon,
In the dark of night under a fair full moon
A child is born to unite the realms
Upon whose brow will sit a royal helm
The times of was shall be at an end
And Rewards galore for all those he calls friend.

Many years later Araphus, the Great King and Child of Prophecy, hears a new major shared prophecy.
When times of war again become too much
Five powerful beings shall be born as such
One a Human and four of Fey
Shall be called forth on Salcid Day
To receive their gifts from the Royal Crown

Each must prove their hearts sound
For an Evil Enemy shall return
To steal the gifts so making his foes burn
.
Salcid (pronounced sal-keed) is one of the Gods who created this world.  Salcid Day is actually the summer solstice.  His counter part is Fionosus (pronounced fee-O-no-suhs), whose holiday is the winter solstice.  For two weeks around each of these holidays there are festivals.  It is the only time of year that Humans and Fey will not fight unless it is part of the festivities (boxing and wrestling matches are common during the Salcid Day festivals).

The Jewels of Fey Backstory Part 1

Once long ago the Fey and Humans lived as one people ruled over by the Gods.  They lived together peaceably for hundreds of years.

One day a group of Humans met secretly to discuss revolution.  This group believed that the Fey were unfairly revered by the Gods.

At the same time a group of Fey met for a similar reason.  They believed that the Humans were inferior beings.  After all the Gods had given the Fey power over the elements, and therefore loved them better.

Over the next few centuries the people, Human and Fey alike, began to doubt their belief in the Godsand eventually most didn't believe at all.  The Gods were saddened by this and so blessed a select few of the remaining believers with the ability to see as the Gods do.  These people were known as prophets and came from both the Fey and Human backgrounds.

Long TIme No See

So I haven't been writing very much lately... I need some inspiration...by that I mean I need someone to kick me in the butt and tell me to finish the chapter by the end of the month.  So I plan on posting some background stuff in the next few days, if you're reading this now please read my background stuff and give me feedback.  I'm a starving artist and therefore in need of all the attention I can get.

Besides that I'm going to be going up to the Brookline Library pretty often in an attempt to make myself write, so stop by and yell at me if I'm playing games on the internet.

Happy Reading,

What & Why??

So I've created this blog as a way to put my writing skills out there in a form that is easy for me to control and access...and also for me to get feedback.  Most of the stuff I write falls under one or more of the following categories: romance, fantasy, teen, adult, and fanfic.

I will be posting each time with a rating as is used with video games or movies that way you will know somewhat to expect.

Enjoy and Comment!!
